Long fucking day....
Jan. 11th, 2006 06:26 pmLast night was long and hard and tumultuous. By the end of it, when I finally fell asleep at one, then again at three thirty and again at six thirty, things were ok, things were somewhat settled and things had the potential of getting back to normal...
BUT...
I went in to work *very* tired. The job we were scheduled for was bust because the woman we were supposed to do the work for 1) did not specify that there was a bedbug infestation on her paperwork (which is a major no-no) and 2) refused to acknowledge the fact that we were not doing her laundry. So back to the office we went. After some political gymnastics (going behind the scheduling lady's back) I managed to score the rest of the day off since she's booked me for Friday *again*.
I went up to China Town, bought myself some new measuring cups, measuring spoons, a couple of flat-bottomed asian soup spoons that match my new dishes (thanks Daddy!!) and a mortar and pestal!! It's marble and it's loverly. Then I headed home.
At home, I convinced Mark to take Natasha for part of the day on Saturday so I can go to a herb party and class at my Aunt's store, E-mailed my Aunt to let her know I would be coming and find out the cost of attending, researched some stuff on some things I would like to take in school including cost and earning potential...walked the dog and now after picking the kid up, I'm re-heating last night's roast in the over. Oh yeah, and I just e-mailed someone I've been meaning to contact to see if she actually does want to work with me as we had talked about. New job in the making??? Who knows...
I'm tired, but I at least I got some things done. Tonight I may just sit with tea and my doggy and read--that is after helping Natasha with homework and figuring out how to get her to eat leftovers, which she loaths.
Wish the boyfriend hadn't decided to become a social recluse for a little while, I could use some snuggles...not for emotional reasons, just for comfort, like a warm bathrobe, a pair of fuzzy slippers and a fire. Miss you!
Time to check on the roast.....
